Every sovereign wealth fund, sourced and dated
The #1 Most In-Depth Sovereign Wealth Fund Guide
231 state investment funds in 108 countries and territories. Free to read, with the source and the date behind every number.
Why this site
Every sovereign wealth fund, sourced and dated.
Sovereign wealth funds are some of the largest investors in the world, and some of the hardest to read. Some publish audited accounts every quarter. Others publish nothing at all, so every number you see for them is someone else's estimate. Rankings disagree, and they rarely tell you why.
We built this site to fix that. We profile every fund we can find, from Norway's Government Pension Fund Global to a Brazilian municipal fund, and we put a source link and an as-of date next to every fact. Where a fund does not publish its size, we say so. Where two sources disagree, we show both and explain the difference. Where a fact needs a second source, we wait for one before we state it.
We also show the grey zone instead of hiding it. Public pension funds, central bank reserve portfolios, state holding companies and development banks all appear on our list with a clear label, so you can choose what to count.
Three things you will not find elsewhere in one place:
- A full list of all 231 entities with type, category, size basis and status, shown in one table you can sort and filter.
- A transparency score for each fund, built from 10 items, each backed by a cited source.
- A tracker for new funds, from the Canada Strong Fund to Kenya's new sovereign wealth fund law, re-dated as things change.
If you are new to the subject, start here. If you know what you are looking for, search the full list or go straight to the largest funds.

Methodology
How we research, date, score and correct
Each fact names its source and its date. When two sources disagree, we show both. When a fund has not published a number, we say so.
